Dr. Olugbenga Ogedegbe, MD, MS, MPH was recently awarded a 5 year grant through the National Institutes of Health Fogarty International Center as part of the Chronic, Non-Communicable Diseases and Disorders Across the Lifespan (NCD-Lifespan) initiative which aims to build the ranks of experienced clinicians and researchers by establishing research training programs in more than a dozen low-and middle-income countries. Dr. Ogedegbe’s grant titled NYU/UG Cardiovascular Research Training Institute Program (CaRT), is a collaborative program between NYU (School of Medicine, College of Nursing and Dentistry, Wagner School of Public Policy, and Global Public Health Program) and the University of Ghana (College of Health Sciences, Noguchi Medical Research Institute and School of Public Health). The goal of CaRT is to establish a network of 40 investigators committed to a career in cardiovascular research in Ghana.
