Fellowship and Training Programs


Four unique post-graduate fellowship training programs are offered by the Division of General Internal Medicine:


  • Fellowship in Geriatrics - Prepares internists to care for the frail elderly in diverse settings.

  • Fellowship in Primary Care Research - Prepares physician scientists for research careers at the interface of medicine and public health, addressing health promotion, disease prevention and preparedness.

  • Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine - The fellowship trains palliative care physicians who will be able to ease the burden of life-threatening illness for patients and families.

  • General Clinician Educator Faculty Development Program - Prepares GIM physicians to be expert teachers and leaders, by immersion in medical education theory and skills, curriculum design and implementation, remediation, and academic leadership.
