Bellevue/NYU
Program for the Survivors of Torture

NYU Langone Medical Centere Program for the Survivors of Torture

The Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors Torture envisions a world where survivors of torture and other horrific human rights abuses are able to access the compassionate, comprehensive care and support needed to rebuild healthy and self-sufficient lives in New York.

The Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture provides comprehensive medical and mental health care, social, and legal services to survivors of torture and war trauma and their family members. The Program’s mission is to assist individuals and families subjected to torture and war trauma to rebuild healthy, self-sufficient lives, and to contribute knowledge and testimony to global efforts to end torture.. The Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture is the first and largest comprehensive torture treatment center in New York City.

Our education, advocacy, and research efforts are extensions of our direct care for torture survivors. We train future health professionals, as well as organizations and individuals who work with torture survivors in health, social service, legal, or immigration settings.

By leveraging vital partnerships with NYU School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital Center, we are able to provide survivors with the highest quality of care and the most cutting edge treatments.
