Lisa Malter, MDDr. Lisa B. Malter is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine, and Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic at the Bellevue Hospital Center.

Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Malter’s patient practice is focused primarily on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as women’s issues in gastroenterology. Dr. Malter’s research interests include the study of inflammatory bowel disease, fecal microbial transplantation, patient safety, and fellowship education.

Dr. Malter teaches at the NYU School of Medicine, and has published in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and American Journal of Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

Dr. Malter received her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University/Chicago Medical School. Dr. Malter completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and went on to complete a Gastroenterology fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center.
