Colon Cancer: Symptoms
Colon Cancer: Symptoms
-
Early colon cancers and pre-cancerous polyps often don’t cause any symptoms. This is why getting screened, before you have symptoms, is so important.
-
Screening helps to detect early colon cancer when it’s highly curable. Screening can also help to prevent colon cancer by finding and removing
potentially pre-cancerous polyps before they turn into cancer.
-
When symptoms do develop, they may include any of the following:
-
Rectal bleeding.
-
Change in bowel habits.
-
Narrowing of stool.
-
Abdominal pain.
-
Unexplained fatigue (a very tired feeling).
-
Unexplained weight loss.
-
These symptoms can be those of colon cancer or of another gastrointestinal condition or illness. If you have any of these symptoms, please see your
doctor for evaluation.
