Research in infectious diseases at NYU is growing rapidly, and encompasses multiple approaches and disciplines, and multiple pathogens and diseases. The research activities include investigators in the Division of Infectious Diseases itself, as well as investigators whose primary appointments are in other departments of the school. The research themes that are already particularly strong include HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, Staphylococcal infections, the human microbiome, and healthcare-associated infections.
