AIDS Clinical Trials Unit

The clinical research activities of the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology are based mainly in the NYU AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU) directed by Dr. Judith Aberg. As an NIH-funded clinical trials unit, the ACTU designs and conducts clinical trials to determine optimal treatment and management of HIV infection.

The ACTU is currently conducting studies designed to understand the basis of lipid metabolic abnormalities in people with HIV infection, and is initiating novel studies to determine optimal management of people co-infected with HIV and hepatitis B or hepatitis C virus.
