Research Training for Fellows

During 9 months of the second year and an optional third year the fellow is expected to work full time on either a basic science laboratory based project or a clinical project.  During the first year of the fellowship, the fellow is exposed to the ongoing research projects through both formal lectures and informal discussions with the various principle investigators within the Division of Nephrology.  The fellow then choses a project of interest and that faculty member then serves as a mentor for the fellow.  The ultimate goal is to develop a body of work that can be written up for publication and presented at regional and national meetings. See the Research section of this website for ongoing research projects.
