Dr. Aaron Garza is a native of Monterrey, Mexico, not far from the Texas-Mexico border. He attended medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. He was graduated summa cum laude and was first in his class of 357, also receiving the Academia Nacional de Medicina Academic Merit Award as one of the top 60 students in Mexico. After participating in an observership at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine during medical school, Aaron chose to return to the Miller School of Medicine for his residency training. Throughout his residency training Aaron has been active in rheumatology research, and has presented abstracts at EULAR, the ACR meeting in San Diego, and Buenos Aires, among others.
